Structural Repair & Strengthening of Krya Vrisi Municipal Stadium

ANTHRAKIDIS – Studies & Constructions successfully completed the project of structural repair and strengthening of the Krya Vrisi Municipal Stadium, aiming to restore its load-bearing capacity and ensure the safe use of the facilities.

The Need

After decades of use, the stands and structural elements showed significant deterioration. Ensuring the safe accommodation of spectators and athletes made the immediate strengthening of the structure imperative.

Technical Interventions

The works carried out included:

  • Removal of loose and deteriorated concrete sections and thorough surface preparation.
  • Strengthening of columns and beams with reinforced concrete jackets to increase their cross-section and structural capacity.
  • Application of sprayed concrete (gunite/shotcrete) over extensive areas to restore damaged sections and create a compact, high-strength protective layer.
  • Protection of reinforcement steel and application of suitable coatings to enhance durability against weather conditions.

Result

Through this intervention:

  • The structural adequacy of the stadium was ensured.
  • The durability of the load-bearing structure was significantly improved.
  • The service life of the sports facility was extended for many years to come.

Our Commitment

Our team continues to apply proven, traditional strengthening methods—such as concrete jacketing and sprayed concrete—which have demonstrated long-term reliability and durability in demanding public infrastructure projects.

ANTHRAKIDIS Studies & Constructions, with many years of experience in energy projects and high-precision technical applications, is launching another major infrastructure project: the installation of photovoltaic self-generation systems (Net Metering) at 9 Health Centers in the region of Central Macedonia.

The objective of the project is the energy upgrade of public healthcare facilities, the reduction of electricity consumption costs, and the promotion of sustainable development through the use of clean and renewable energy.

Project Scope:

  • Study – Installation – Turnkey delivery
  • High-efficiency modern photovoltaic panels
  • Installation of inverters and electrical panels
  • Grid interconnection with DEDDHIE through net metering
  • Secure metal mounting structures for all roof types
  • Complete licensing dossier and technical certifications

Intervention Sites:

The project αφορά a total of 9 Health Centers, most of which are located in rural and semi-urban areas, where energy autonomy can act as a multiplier of safety and operational reliability.

Benefits:

  • Reduction of operating energy costs by up to 70% annually
  • Investment payback within 4–5 years
  • Contribution to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and overall environmental footprint
  • System resilience against power outages through future-ready infrastructure

The project is implemented under the supervision of the Technical Chamber of Greece and guided by the specialized engineers of our firm.
